Volunteer Fire & Rescue Margaret River

Byte was awarded the contract for the new Volunteer Fire & Rescue Service Building (VRFS) by the Department of Finance (DOF) late in mid-2024, having previously

completed the refurbishment and extension of the Augusta VRFS facility. Works included the construction of a new structural steel frame and metal clad Station building, together with associated paving, driveways, services and landscaping.

The contract was carried out adjacent to the existing State Emergency Service (SES)

Southwest buildings and works were undertaken in a manner that ensured zero disruption to this vital community facility. This was achieved by hard separation

strategies between the works and the SES site, as well as ensuring all material deliveries and trade access was via the new dedicated driveway, as per the scope of works.

Due to the project’s Southwest location, Byte engaged close to 100% local suppliers and subcontractors on the project as per our Western Australian Industry Participation Plan (WAIPS) which was successfully implemented on the project. This ensured a financial benefit to local businesses and the community and continues our ongoing relationship with trades and suppliers in the region. The project was delivered on time and on budget and we are proud to deliver a high-quality end product for the Department of Finance and all end-users of this vital volunteer facility.
