Melville City Council wanted to refresh the existing facade and upgrade the current council office building. The building was built in the 80s and the existing cladding was showing signs of significant detioration. Rather than replace with a ‘like for like’ product the design team chose a prefinished ‘Bluechip Equitone Pictura’ product, using a through-colour application to the CFC sheet.
While the facade was re-clad, the operation of the building had to be maintained. The process involved staged demolition, investigation and remedial work to the existing steel frame including site measure, fabrication and installation.
The upgrade also included retiling to balconies and the rectification of draining issues.
Our team completed the works over the autumn / winter period which required close monitoring of weather conditions to ensure internal areas remained undamaged.
