Byte was awarded the contract to construct the Bruce Prance Dryland Diving Centre at HBF Stadium. The facility includes a training centre with springboards, trampolines, a weight area, and foam pits, meeting FINA International Standards. Office spaces and storage areas are also provided.
The construction aimed to minimize disruption to existing facilities and integrate seamlessly with the environment. The center is dedicated to the memory of Bruce Prance, a renowned figure in diving, who dedicated over 70 years of his life to the sport. He played a pivotal role in the formation of Diving Western Australia and pioneered dryland training in the country.
The Bruce Prance Dryland Diving Centre is now the operational base for Diving WA, offering a range of facilities for divers, coaches, and staff. It features a kitchen, communal area, fully-furnished offices, and boardrooms to support the institution’s status.
The Dryland Centre allows divers to practice acrobatic training using trampolines, springboards, harnesses, and foam pits, simulating waterless jumps and enabling more repetitions. This enhances their skills and performance. The facility will undoubtedly support local and national athletes in their pursuit of success in Commonwealth and Olympic competitions.
