Byte Construct is delivering the transformation of the former Rendezvous Hotel on Mount Street into a vibrant, purpose-built student accommodation facility in the heart of Perth.
This adaptive reuse project involves extensive internal modifications across multiple levels to create a modern, community-focused environment that responds to the increasing demand for student housing within the city. Levels 1 to 4 are being reconfigured to provide 103 additional student beds in shared living arrangements, each supported by new communal kitchenettes. The ground floor has been reimagined as a dynamic social hub, featuring a new kitchen and dining area, an upgraded laundry, and the conversion of former conference rooms into entertainment spaces and a community lounge.
Additional enhancements include the integration of a dedicated music room, wellness space, and updated toilet facilities. A new secure bike storage area is being developed within the basement carpark to support sustainable transport options. The project also includes significant building services upgrades, including the installation of fire hydrants in stairwells, the replacement of outdated electrical distribution boards, and a complete upgrade of the air conditioning systems.
