Morley Sport & Recreational Facility

Morley Recreation Centre Exterior - Construction Project

Byte Construct has been appointed by the City of Bayswater for Stages 1 & 2 Design and Construction of a new Sports Hall and Amenities building on Wellington Street, Morley.

Stage 1 – Sports Hall

This stage incorporated tilt panel construction and fit-out of the new sports hall area consisting of two full size sprung floor basketball courts, ‘class 01’ sports hall flooring, sports equipment, powered louvers and vents to provide natural ventilation throughout.

The external architectural facade included perforated screens, external canopies with feature lighting and universal access compliant ramps and walkways.

Stage 2 – Amenities

Stage 2 incorporated a new amenities facility containing team change rooms, ablution blocks, first-aid and storage rooms. Also included was the extension of the existing aerobics area and a new fire exit stair to the gym. Office space, connecting corridors and associated internal fit-out was also included in stage 2 works.

External works

Also required was the realignment of the existing car park, including new ACROD compliant bays, line-marking and signage, Soft and Hard landscaping to meet DA requirements, as well as new external signage and artwork.
